How do I get there?

Lisbon Airport, officially ‘Humberto Delgado Airport’

For overseas travellers, the best option is to fly into Lisbon International Airport (LIS) and jump on one ​of our transfers to the camp. If you are a European traveller, Lisbon is well connected by public ​transportation to most European capitals. We encourage everyone to travel as low impact as possible ​to help preserve the planet. Travelling by train or bus to the Portuguese capital is an experience in ​itself, as you’ll get to see different parts of Europe and enjoy some beautiful scenery along the way.

The Surf Squad, like all TTS experiences is tailored for you to come away ​from the trip with your own squad! If you come away from these trips with a ​new friend to carry on your travels, then we've done our job!!!

This week will be full of games, challenges, icebreakers, activities and plenty of social opportunities from camp fire gatherings at night to volleyball tournaments in the day.

FAQ’S

Are fights included in your trips?

International flights to/from the destination your trip starts and ends in are not ​included in the cost of the trip, and must be purchased separately. We have ​members flying from all over the world making it very hard to include flights. We ​also want to keep our trips open ended for those people that want to carry on their ​travels and aren't ready to head home :)

What is the average age range?

The average age range of our community is 18-35 but the majority is 24-35. That ​being said, we do have some members that join us that fall outside those given ​parameters. Please note our minimum age requirement is 18.

What if I need to cancel? Can I get money back?

Can I book with a friend?

Tickets are limited to 1 person per booking. TTS was started for helping solo ​people without friends to book and meet new friends so our ticket system isn't ​designed for groups. This may be a feature added in the future. For now make ​sure your friend is ready to book a ticket at the same time.

I'm traveling on my own, is this trip suitable for me?

All TTS experiences are tailored for you to come away with your own squad!If you ​come away from these trips with a new friend to plan more adventures, then ​we've done our job!!! Once you are confirmed onto the trip you will be added to a ​group chat to connect, swap socials and build relationships online with people ​before heading out. Remember everyone here is a stranger at some stage of their ​TTS journey.

Travel insurance?

Yes! We highly recommend that you take out comprehensive insurance cover for ​cancellation, personal injury, death, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, ​evacuation expenses, personal liability & loss of personal property and Covid ​related expenses before you travel with us. It’s also super important to check that ​your insurance covers all of the activities you’ll be trying out, particularly any ​adventure activities (for all you adrenaline junkies).

How do I make changes to my booking?

For now until our platform is more advanced, please email the relevant email for ​your trip (you can find this email in your confirmation email.) The admin will assist ​you in making these changes.

How do room allocations work?

At the halfway point from booking to when the trip commences, we will send out a ​questionnaire both by email and in the confirmed squad (group chat). This will be ​your opportunity to let us know a little bit about yourself, so that we can help match ​you up with like minded people.

If you have chosen ‘Solo share’ you will be sharing with another TTS Member. You ​can request to stay with someone in particular. You can use the Whats app chats to ​swap socials, connect and build online relationships with others booked on to help ​you choose who to share with. We will always allocate girls to be with girls and boys ​to be with boys unless you specifically request to be with someone in particular as a ​couple.

When you fill out the questionnaire and we allocate you, we will connect you with ​your room buddy via email beforehand to connect and build online relationships ​beforehand.

Transfers

We are happy to provide transfers for all guests arriving and departing on Sundays, ​no matter the arrival time. We do not have surf lessons or any special activities at the ​camp on Sundays, so you are free to arrive at any time that suits you better. The ​check-in to the rooms is from 16:00, but you are more than welcome to use all our ​common areas (pool, restaurant, etc.) if you are planning to arrive earlier. If you have ​several flight options, we would advise arriving at the Camp before 19:00, so you can ​join us for the welcome dinner.

Please note that there is a possibility that you will have to wait a bit for the transfer at ​the airport, nevertheless, it will never be a long wait.

If you are arriving on other days than Sundays we will not be able to organize a ​transfer for you, but you can always contact us and we can help you call a taxi or with ​advice on how to get to the camp by your own means.

Rooms

At the camp in Ericeira, we offer a great variety of rooms. Twin/double ​rooms and shared dorms. (2 single beds) or double (1 double bed) rooms. ​Most of our dorms have 4 beds and the basic dorms have up to 8 beds. ​Our ocean view dorms are very spacious rooms with a french balcony and ​it has a capacity of 4 people, please note that this room is facing both the ​ocean and the garden. All the rooms at the camp have a private ​bathroom.

I am a beginner...

Majority of people booking this trip will be beginner surfers. Portugal, in ​general, and Ericeira in particular is one of the best spots for surfing. Ericeira ​is suitable for both beginners and more experienced surfers. It is possible to ​surf all year round in Portugal no matter your surf level.

Summer offers smaller, more beginner-friendly waves. And the winter ​offers bigger, more powerful waves, which is perfect for advanced surfers ​and confident intermediate students. Nevertheless, if you are a beginner, ​we will find a suitable spot for you.

For the surf lessons with us, we will provide you with all the necessary ​equipment: board and wetsuit and it is included in the price.
